ELEPHANT'S NEW LEG
SOMETHING GOOD FOR THE WORLD
After losing his leg to poachers as a baby, a 15 year old elephant has been fitted for a prosthetic leg.

Chhouk's carers make sure to care for his leg before fitting the prosthetic, and they refit it every six months to keep up with his growth.

They fit him with his very own and very large elephant-sized sock, and strap the leg onto the stump, to which he graciously helps them with by guiding his leg in.

His happiness when he can walk with his leg is heart warming.

They say that "Chhouk now has full mobility and lives happily in the Wildlife Alliance in Cambodia."

While this story does show how people have come together to help the elephant, I just thought it was so wonderful and I hoped it might make you smile.
